Dogs can struggle with their emotions and feelings like humans do. Many behavioural problems and struggles can stem from this as a result.

Our specialty at Locke’s Dogs is helping anxious dogs become well-rounded, confident, and happy individuals.

We are proud of our Fun Not Fear® philosophy, games & reward based techniques, and we never use aversive methods or equipment.

From teaching them the foundations of a Fun Not Fear® life (to help stop problems from ever starting), to turning around aggression, over-arousal, phobias, and fearful behaviours, we make it so that your dog can have an even more amazing life with you.

Questions? Then Why not contact us?

We work in a 10-mile radius of Exning, Suffolk in person.

Behavioural Support

Anxious Dogs who struggle exhibit all kinds of behavioural difficulties, from phobias, aggression, compulsive behaviours, over-arousal and even self-harm, among many other things.

Training is not always the solution; behavioural support can be more effective.

We at Locke’s Dogs believe in helping anxious dogs holistically, by looking at the complete picture on a bespoke basis. We work on what is causing the dog to feel certain ways, and consequently help them feel better about their triggers.

In doing this, inappropriate behaviours (at least inappropriate to us humans) melt away.

Training

Dogs do not come with an instruction manual. For that matter, neither do humans!
Teaching dogs and puppies basic cues, such as “sit”, “down”, “wait”, loose lead walking and “come” can help dogs to navigate the world more easily.

Training with rewards and Fun Not Fear® methods boosts dog’s confidence. Additionally, it also teaches kindness and understanding in our dealings with dogs. Therefore, it helps dog and dogparent to communicate and bond with each other.

With 121 training we can really get to work on teaching the things that matter to yours and your dog’s individual circumstances.

Nutrition and Diet Advice

As part of our holistic approach to behaviour support and training, we know that “What you put in, you get out”. This includes with food.

Freya holds multiple qualifications in Canine Nutrition and as a result can help with many diet and nutrition related struggles.

By giving your dog the best diet, you can help to combat some of the struggles that might make them an anxious dog.

Support for the Humans

We know that behind almost every good dog, is a good dogparent. We believe the dogparents need our support and care as much as the dogs do.

After all, without our dogparents being in tip-top shape, who will be there to look after the dogs?

So accordingly, our behaviour and training packages emphasise kindness, respect, and consideration, mirroring how we treat dogs.
